Emergency Services

It’s much more difficult to know when your animal is in distress, because they simply cannot talk to you. Here are some of the common signs you can watch for:

  • Difficulty giving birth
  • Neonatal issues, such as dehydration or hypothermia
  • Possible poisoning (potentially caused by drinking antifreeze or ingesting rat poison or other toxic substances)
  • Allergic reactions or uncontrollable itching
  • Trouble breathing or severe coughing
  • Discolored or pale gums and tongue
  • Severe bleeding
  • Lameness which comes on suddenly
  • Signs of discomfort
  • Lacerations
  • Ingesting a foreign object
  • Eye trauma or blindness that comes on quickly
  • Weakness of limbs or an inability to move
  • Severe vomiting, diarrhea or dry heaving
  • Sudden collapse
  • Erratic behavior
  • Diabetic emergencies

If you’re concerned that your pet may be facing a potentially life-threatening emergency, please contact us.
